  SOME BENEFITS OF EXERCISE  
 

 

 
 

o         Regular exercise enhances improved relaxation and sleep, which are indicators of a beneficial effect on the nervous system.

 

o        Regular and proper exercise establishes a better equilibrium between the oxygen required by the tissues, particularly muscle tissues and the oxygen made available during metabolism.

o         It helps to improve the rate of digestion and elimination of waste products in the body.

o     It tones up glandular systems. Noticeable increased output of the thyroid gland is an important factor in the metabolic charges associated with exercise.

o     Regular exercise increases body (fluid) alkali. The margin of safety provided by the high alkaline reserve of a physiologically fit individual could well be the margin of survival in case of injury or severe extended illness.

o     Exercise has both mental and emotional values such as self expression, self-confidence and self-status of acceptance; it's a vehicle for effective and enjoyable living.

o     Subjective evidences exist to show that the learning process is enhanced by regular exercise. Better mental performance has been recorded for some individuals.
